The Grande ColonialThe original Colonial Inn opened its doors in 1913 offering eight apartments and rooms inside a white, wood-framed building. In 1926, architect Frank Stevenson was commissioned to design a hotel that would rival anything in the West. The existing building was moved to the rear of the property and a new, four-story, Colonial Revival-style building was erected featuring arched lead glass windows, intricate wood moldings, marble hearths and floors, and elegant chandeliers. |
