When
it opened in 1933, this Art Deco landmark in seaside Santa Monica
was an immediate attraction for stars of the silver screen seeking
relief from hot summers in nearby Hollywood. The hotel was designed
strictly for comfortable oceanfront lodging, offering refreshing,
unfettered enjoyment of soothing afternoon breezes and spectacular
Pacific sunsets. Varied architectural details accent the building's
exterior, intimate lobby, guest rooms and suites. The hotel was
refurbished in 2001.
