In
1907 Italian stonemasons, using locally quarried stone, built the
four-story Hotel La Rose. Each room is individually decorated in
turn-of-the-nineteenth-century style, the corridors are lined with
the original wainscoting, and the staircase from the San Francisco
Cable Car Barn enhances the lobby. The original building has elevator
access to all four stories housing 29 non-smoking rooms. The Carriage
House, constructed in 1984, has 20 additional guest rooms built
around a rose garden courtyard, each with a private patio or balcony.
Hotel La Rose is located in Historic Railroad Square.
